What the fuck happened to Hiphop?

Before I start let me state some facts about myself. I didn't come up on hip-hop when everyone else did. I wasn't even exposed to it until around 1993, so I missed out on a lot of the older stuff but knew enough to get the message. The 1st album I ever had was Wu-Tang's 36 Chambers and to date I still know the entire album word for word. Hip-hop has been my life since I was 10. I remember everything I loved in the 90's and none of which is present today.

Im not trying to complain that music isn't how it used to be, but the fact of the matter is, the entire industry is fucked up. There was a time when an artist didn't have to get locked up or do some dumb shit to get album sales, they just made good music. I remember listening to Illmatic when it first came out, or ATLiens, and these were groundbreaking albums. I understand that the music industry is ever-changing, but I think we've sacrificed quality for some reality-tv style entertainment. It kind of makes me sick. If these dude spent less time on Youtube talkin shit and more time in the studio the music would be better. I applaud the South for finally making its way into hip-hop, but what i don't applaud is the recycling of the same shit. Everything sounds the same.

I don't appreiciate the face that these rookie rappers can even put themselves in the same lane as someone like Nas, Jay-Z or even Tupac. I saw Timbaland once on tv say that he thought Plies was like the new Tupac.....muthafuckin Plies!! I'm not even going to get into that or the MTV top 10. I don't support MTV in any way shape or form. It's a music television network dedicated to reality TV shows geared towards teenage girls and adults with brain damage. But I don't want to get into that right now, we'll save that for later.

Aside from the disappointing music and album sales the main reason i think Hiphop lost it's Hardcore is because nobody raps anymore. Since when has it become cool to sing? I don't knock dudes like Kid Cudi, but put them in a different category. Don't call yourself a rapper if all you do is sing monotone over abstract beats. I personally don't like that shit. RAPPERS SHOULDN'T SING!. Except for maybe Bone Thugs n Harmony.

For those of you who agree with me, do something about it! When a good artist has an album out, go buy it! You can't bootleg the album, and then complain that they should have done better with sales. BUY THEIR SHIT!
And with that I'm done. I hope I've made sense to someone.

Muthafuckin Plies!!
And WTF is a Gucci Mane?
